So I "fixed" it by picking up another body for about 90USD that was in way nicer cosmetic condition. The Bronica S was a major upgrade of the model D or Deluxe camera introduced by Zenza Bronica in 1961. With the SQ's you could hold in a pin and that way could fire and wind the camera with the dark slide out and back off. It seemed related to some of the scary mechanism inside the body. Over a short period of fooling with it, even the release button stopped working. The last digit in the 8digit part number ranges from O to 8 and indicates the sequence of part changes. Background: my original SQ-A body, purchased used, started refusing to fire from a cable release. All Bronica parts are assigned an 8digit part number.
